First time on Sawtelle, first time eating tsukemen!

Sawtelle is a street by UCLA that is also known as Little Osaka. There are a ton of asian restaurants, especially Japanese in this area. I've heard a lot about tsukemen, ramen noodles that you dip into warm (not hot) broth as opposed to having the two elements in one bowl. Tsujita LA is where the hype is for tsukemen. There's always a long wait--it's only a 12 seat establishment. Driving here was well worth it.

I got the char siu tsukemen and Rebecca got the ajitama tsukemen (boiled egg). To my surprise, there was a soft-boiled egg in the char siu tsukemen broth too (yay!).

OKAY. So...the char siu pork BLEW ME AWAY. It was the softest, juiciest, delicate, most amazing pork I've ever eaten. The dipping thing was interesting, but it was a great great combination of flavors in my mouth. They also give you a very generous amount of noodles. Mmm I am definitely coming back here! A+++
